HELLO!

I’m Laia Roca an illustrator from a little town near Barcelona.

I specialize in children’s books, middle grade books and chapter books. Also in illustration for licensing of all kinds of products and surfaces.

I grew up surrounded by colored pencils, markers and crayons. From a very young age I realize that drawing was my thing. After finishing arts high school, I studied communication and design. It wasn't until later, that I became passionate about the world of children's illustration. Although I have been able to take advantage of all my studies since they have helped me to give a special touch to my illustrations.

I always worked in traditional media, until I discovered and learned about digital illustration. That completely changed my way of working and now it has become my main support. Even though I never say no to a relaxing afternoon drawing in my sketchbook or painting with guasche and colored pencils.

When I'm not drawing and painting (something that doesn’t happen often hehe), you'll find me watching animated movies and series, writing little fantasy stories, or going on long walks down the roads around my little town.
